Finance Forward Update

Finance Forward met with the Board this week to share our first set of recommendations. They ranged from small changes we can adopt quickly to larger reflections on how we track our money and talk about our resources as a community. Those recommendations are now the Board’s hands and we look forward to hearing what comes next.

Our pace over the past two months has been energizing. In five meetings (about ten hours together) the team has moved from questions to real recommendations. We are learning a great deal from leaders inside and outside the church; we are growing our faith and knowledge as a team; and all of our work is anchored in the five questions guiding us. Over the summer, we are taking some time to recharge. We will use it to reflect on what we have learned, do a little more research, and follow up on ideas that have emerged from our conversations. We have plans to hit the ground running in late August to continue our future-generating ideas. We have lots more to come and we are grateful to serve our congregation through this work.
